Enroll Today On A Marine Conservation Course
If you dive regularly on a site over a few years you may have noticed something.
Have many of the corals died from bleaching, anchor damage or careless tourism ?
Have the larger fish disappeared and are you left with just sea urchins ?
Are your seas choked with all kinds of plastic debris ?
Sharks used to be seen regularly at some of the dive sites I used to dive, now they are nowhere in sight !
We are currently witnessing what we call GOD (Global Ocean Destruction) and we as divers are at the front line watching this catastrophe unfold.
By giving divers the tools and knowledge to help our marine environment we hope that all divers can get active and help.
You dont need to be a marine biologist to get involved - This really is for everyone !!

Ecological MONITORING PROGRAM
Do you know your Corymbose from your Foliose?
Do you know your indicator species on the reef ?
The EMP course is designed to provide long term data on biodiversity abundance and health of coral reefs in the area it has been exclusively written for, in this case Pattaya with more dive locations in Thailand to follow.
Data for these programs are collected along permanent and random transects in several locations around Pattaya including Koh Sak, Koh Lahn and Koh Rin. With our students and volunteers we will try to visit these sites once a month to collect data which will enable us to get a clear picture of the reefs health.
The course will also take in the data from the artificial reef sites and if you continue on to the EMP plus, we will then begin on Coral Garden maintenance.
We will be working along the transects and teaching you how to lay the lines, at what length you need to collect data and how to collect the data required, Fish, Invertebrates, Substrate and Corals.
The course takes a total of 4 days, 2 of these in our classroom and Lab and 2 days out at sea.
Once completed we would like you to continue diving with us once a month to continue to collect data on a monthly basis if possible.
The EMP course was originally designed by Chad Scott, Dr Wayne Phillips and CPAD (Coastal Preservation And Development) Foundation to teach about the ecology and conservation of the reef.
Dive Tribe will now be offering this specialist course to divers wanting to learn about the reefs of Pattaya and will offer the program at more dive locations in Thailand soon.
Course Price 12,500 Baht (Price includes manuals, 2 days diving, PADI speciality card and Dive Tribe Lifetime membership)

Reef Reconstruction/Coral Gardening
This year 2014 Dive Tribe were given permission by the DMCR and Royal Thai Navy to begin Coral Reef Reconstruction work at a small island in the Gulf of Thailand called Koh Sak.
By having this permission Dive Tribe can now run a small course on Coral Reef Ecology and installing and building artificial reefs. This course is a 2 day course , 1 day in the classroom with practical skills and then 1 day out at sea with 2 dives.
The first dive will be collecting and identifying living coral fragment that have been knocked off from their original host (mostly by anchor strikes) . Second dive we will be placing your coral fragments onto your own artificial reef and then taking initial measurements, tagging and numbering them.
This coral reef over time will be continued to be monitored either by you or us on a 3 monthly basis and you will receive the information every quarter on how the reef is performing.
Course Price 6,500 Baht (Price includes, Lecture, 2 days diving, Dive Tribe Lifetime membership)

Shark Tagging & Conservation
Dive Tribe have been working on shark conservation and tagging programs since 2011 and with that experience they have developed their own course that now involves students to help them protect sharks and understand their importance as apex predators of the sea.
The course is broken down into two days which are an afternoon session of lecture, tagging and quiz and then on the second day 2 dives on the reefs to release the sharks into the designated areas.
The course includes our small manual, 3 shark id boards and Dive Tribes members card which allows you to dive with us on other Shark Releases & Marine Conservation Activities.
The card also gives 10% discount on our other courses and at any of our partner or affiliated stores in Thailand.
By joining this course you are actively helping us restock the reef and providing good scientific data that goes towards Dive Tribes project of setting up marine protected areas in the gulf of Thailand.
